The World Island Yukta
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Four kilometres off the Dubai coastline lies the globally acclaimed The World project by Nakheel. Over an area of 9km in length and 6km wide, The World is an archipelago of 300 islands painstakingly constructed in the shape of a world map. Phoenix Developments, with the support of the design office of Dewan Architects & Engineers, is developing YUKTA (D49). The Island will be reshaped as 'two dancing dolphins' surrounded by private beaches, water houses and marinas. The two dolphins create a central lagoon between them with a public marina and other water edge public facilities like cafes and restaurants.
The island delivers a stunning modern high density residential paradise, and will be the height of expressive and contemporary design. Yukta is a collection of 500 units spread over project reshaped land area of 43,559m2 and a built-up area of 54,166m2. Comprising of a range of one and two bedroom suites, three bedroom penthouses, land and water villas, all properties offer spacious living accommodation and spectacular views. Open plan living is complemented with rooftop plunge pools and private berths and the exclusive project is due for completion in 2011.
