Dewan Architects + Engineers has received two major honours at the Construction Innovation Awards 2025, with Sara Kakani, Design Manager at Dewan, named Architect of the Year, and the firm’s La Mazzoni development winning Best Future Project of the Year.

Held at the Hilton Al Habtoor in Dubai, the annual awards celebrated visionary individuals, forward-thinking companies, and landmark projects that are redefining the region’s built environment through innovation, leadership, and impact.

Sara, who joined Dewan in 2001, was recognised for her leadership in design excellence and her contribution to several of Dewan’s high-profile projects across the region.

Dewan also won Best Future Project of the Year for La Mazzoni, an AED2.3 billion luxury real estate development by The Luxe Developers on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. Designed by Dewan, the project exemplifies the firm’s vision for contemporary, sustainable architecture and its ability to deliver large-scale developments that blend innovation with local character.

Commenting on her win, Sara Kakani said:

“I really wasn’t expecting to receive this award. I’m honoured and humbled to be recognised by my company and by my peers in the industry. Here at Dewan, even though this is an individual award, it truly represents a team effort. It’s a testament to the recognition and all the hard work that goes into everything we do, and I see it as a reflection of our continued growth and success.”

Ammar Al Assam, CEO of Dewan Architects + Engineers, added:

“These awards are a proud moment for everyone at Dewan. Sara’s recognition as Architect of the Year highlights the depth of talent and leadership within our team, while La Mazzoni demonstrates our ability to deliver innovative, world-class projects that redefine regional design standards. Both wins reaffirm Dewan’s vision to shape the future of architecture through creativity, collaboration, and excellence.”

Organised by Construction Business News Middle East and BNC Publishing, the Construction Innovation Awards 2025 edition recognised 49 winners and 12 highly commended entries across the construction and design sectors.
