Designed by Foster + Partners, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, features sweeping shell-inspired architecture and elegant interiors crafted with natural materials imbued with calming sea and sand tones. Geometric patterns reminiscent of the region’s design motifs, Arabic artifacts, traditional ceramics, woven Saudi patterned rugs, and intricate wall hangings celebrating local craftsmanship flow through the canopied interiors. Landscaping with indigenous plants frames the pathways between the pavilioned spaces and villas.
Nujuma offers 63 overwater and beach villas, providing one-to-three-bedroom accommodation, living areas and private pools overlooking the sea. Dewan was appointed as the executive architect, leading the project through the design development and construction documents stages for the main contractor works. This included the full design for BOH, services buildings, and staff facilities, as well as coordinating the work of subconsultants and obtaining authority approvals. Dewan also acted as a design technical advisor for the prefabrication works package during the concept and schematic design stages.
