HEALTH + SAFETY

Emergency First Aid at Work

Led by our Founder/Executive Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Al Assam, the first batch of Dewan Dubai staff participated in the Emergency First Aid at Work (HABC level 2 Award) delivered by PLS Training in August 2015.

The course familiarized participants with the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, including assessing an incident, recognizing signs and symptoms of injury and illness, and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. Participants learned and were assessed on their practical ability to deal with casualties who have stopped breathing, are unconscious, are bleeding and suffering from shock.

A total of 40 volunteers listed themselves for this training which was held every Thursday last August at the Dubai Head Office. The same exercise was conducted in Abu Dhabi including site offices for 59 volunteers as part of Dewan’s health and safety program and in preparation for the 2016 HSE Manual authored by the Abu Dhabi Post Contracts Department.
